Jenny Han

Despite the fact I can't buy from this site I love, love, love their clothes. Kind of modern, chic with a little bohemian flare. Check it out.

And PS I did find the light brown ruffle dress on 80s Purple and several other sites. This is one of the few items I liked from their 09 spring collection and found on external retailers' sites. It still doesn't alleviate my rant below. ;)

I want you, but I can't have you.

I love shopping online. But I absolutely despise when I go to a web site only to find things I adore and can't buy them because it is not an online store. They make you hunt it down on other web sites and work for it. Ugghhhh. NOT fun. I found this dress I really liked from 80s Purple and decided not to get it because I wasn't sure about how they styled the dress in the photography. Well, come to discover they were trying to funk it up in the photography and the dress really doesn't look like that! I should have bought it when I first saw it. RATS!! So now I can't find it online anywhere. Except the designer's site. Where online shopping is not available. Where they want you to contact them to find locations. Where I am now annoyed that I love their clothes and can't buy them easily. Aaarrggghh. (Sorry, just venting).

So, I want to show you the photo of the dress I wanted (past tense) and how it should be styled by the designer (first photo). Then I want you to look at how the retailer's site styled it (second photo). COMPLETELY different. And that picture is what made me NOT buy the dress. Oh well. Maybe I should just move on, but I had to tell someone.

Hi-Rise & Bell Bottoms

I went through a stage last winter when I refused to buy another more pair of jeans---I had a binge about 2 years ago and have WAY too many that I just don't wear. I haven't really found any jeans that I love either. I had been on a search for straight leg skinny (but not too skinny) jeans. I did not them. So I guess I am going for the opposite extreme. I found this pair online the other night. I am not sure how bell bottom-ish jeans would look. They may be too retro or something. But I do like how they fit on the girl in the pic. The only thing I am leery about is how thin they may be. They look like they could be paper thin--and I hate that. So, let me know what you think. I just can't make up my mind---skinny jeans or a look like this??? Oh, and BTW I do like the hi-rise waist. I would definitely wear that with a blouse-y shirt.

Love, love, love this!

Hello, my name is Jennifer. I am addicted to J. Crew Fall clothes. I try so hard to not look at the new fall catalogs when they arrive in the mail, but I just can't help myself. I am in love, love, love with this bag. It is absolutely perfect for work, and then I can fold it (after I empty 90% of what's in there) and use it as a going out purse. I love the fawn color. Hhhmmmm. Can't wait to get this one. I have my mind set on it. Will let you know all about it after I order it......

Cute + Clothes

I love, love, love when I get mail. So, when I opened my Smith and Hawken mailbox, I found a little bit of delightfulness--a 25% off from Martin + Osa. This online store is so wonderful! I love it! Unfortunately, you have to be very vigilant when items go on sale--they go speedy fast! While perusing the site, I filled my shopping cart with about 7 items almost immediately. I think paying a trip to the actual store would be DANGEROUS. They have lots of locations, just none in my immediate vicinity---whew! I guess the online shopping is just as bad, huh? 20 minutes = $800 in my shopping cart. eekkk! So anyway, I will carefully review these items and decide what is absolutely necessary. I think I have it down to 3 (items that is). And I have that 25% off coupon. This place loves me....

This purse is one of the items I will try to hold back to see if it goes on sale. Maybe. Please. Soon. I love it. I think the brown is the way to go. The only thing that is stopping me is that I tend to like more structured purses. I do love big purses, as I like to have everything I could possibly need in my purse. Anyway, it is very fabulous to look at, and I think would look great on my shoulder. They also have several small clutches that are equally as beautiful. Understated, but fabulous.

C-c-c-candy!

I have not been able to watch the only show on TV I actually like, no love. The Hills. Yes, I am one of those people. But you would be addicted if you watched it for 10 minutes, too. I just found out (I know it's probably old news to everyone else in the world) that Lauren Conrad has a book out that pretty much describes her reality TV experience in LA. Aaahhhh, suddenly my shakes from withdrawal are going away. I think I am going to buy this ASAP. I need to read more about this LA cutie and the truth behind her cohorts. (It seems some were not her real friends and were only there for the $...imagine that!!)

Um, hello, I love you.

This belt + my hot pink, strapless dress I found in the back of my closet last night = lovin' it!

Feathers + Pearls

I found this site that has unique jewelry--some of it is bit off the edge, but others are quite quaint and I would totally wear--namely, this bracelet. Check out the site--Oh, and I love the frilly, pink, girly look it has going...

Watchful

I am still debating on which watch I want to buy. The one I posted earlier from Michael Kors is such a beautiful piece; however, I just found this watch that is equally unique. I found it on the 80spurple.com site. I love the face-it is very feminine. I just can't decide which I like more....hhhmmmm. Any thoughts?

Viva

I have been in the mindset to figure out what I want to wear on a soon-to-be trip to Sin City. I have been looking online to see what in my wardrobe can be repurposed as a fresh new outfit. Vegas has something about it that makes you want to wear more outgoing and, for a lack of a better word, daring attire. I have been searching online for things like: bathing suits, dresses, skirts, and jewelry. One of the more edgy-ier sites I like to peruse occasionally is 80spurple.com. They are very of-the-moment and perfect for a trip like this. I always try to keep in mind that I want to find things that I will wear again. I absolutely hate buying throw-away clothing. So, on my latest trek to find something I would either replicate or buy, I found this skirt. Punchy. Sassy. Short. And so easy to accessorize to make it Viva Fabulous. I would pair it with a white tank and some long necklaces. The shoes would have to make this outfit....and I am pretty sure I have just the right ones in mind.

Lily-fied

I randomly found this web site one day when I was looking for a long necklace with some sort of insect or something on it. (Yeah, I know, I said it was random). Then I realized that, not only is the site cute, but they have some good on-trend summer-y clothes, too. Everything they have is kind of a California/I'm really laid back/I'm on vacation vibe. I especially love this dress. It would be perfect for a trip to Cabos!

Lime Perfection

Ok, kids. My weakness has arrived. Sorry I couldn't wait to unwrap the tissue paper before I could break out my camera. I tried to put everything back neatly so that I can show you the cuteness that is the Piperlime box. The lime print on the inside of the box is the sweetest thing ever. I also love the little lime sticker on the brown tissue paper around the shoe box! It is just perfection. I just wanted to share my excitement. I even went so far as to email them the very first time I ordered from them to tell their marketing team how wonderful the presentation was. (Yes, I am a marketing geek). Hopefully you will get one soon in the mail, too!!

dream a little dream

Ok, so every girl can dream, right!? I am a picky person. There. I said it. I admit that my taste is a little on the high maintenance side. At least I have honesty on my side, too. With that said, I have never been able to find an actual ring that I am emphatically in love with. (As Charlotte once said, "I am getting married this year!....But I haven't met him yet.") So, with that said, I can still dream of the time when this actually happens. I absolutely adore a solitaire engagement ring. My fingers are on the small side, so I think it would look fabulous on my hand. The only thing I haven't been able to find is a thin band. Hhhhmmm. So, I will just dream that one exists that would hold a 2k solitaire. There. I said that too. 2k-3k. Ok. There, it's all out there. I would be happy with no diamonds in the band or the setting (see, I am saving someone money there). So with all this said, I semi-like (more than half like) the Harry Winston ring that is on the bottom of this picture of 3. I would be happy with a non-Harry Winston ring. This is just the only one I could find online that I like the proportion of the diamond to the band. Even though, I think this band may be too thick for my little fingers. Besides the fact that I am not engaged and not ring shopping, a girl can dream.....

Birdy

My second favorite thing to do is decorate my home. I love to be inventive and create interesting designs with new, unexpected things. For example, this is a picture of 3 frames I made from the following: wrapping paper, a magazine page, and an illustration from the internet. The first frame is actually really funky wrapping paper I bought. I loved it so much, I thought it deserved to be in a frame. The second is actually a high quality paper ad in one of my design books. I liked the colors, and I like feathers- so, it was a perfect fit. The last frame kind of plays off of the middle frame's concept. Peacocks are pretty fun and great for an impactful design element. I found this illustration online and just changed the color and hit print. I may end up changing the top one to be peacock-related, but right now I am enjoying my make-shift artwork.

L.A.M.B.

I was watching E! News the other day and saw a story discussing the "quintessential, white summer dress." I began to think about this and realized that I do not own a white dress. I think the last completely white dress I wore was before high school. It wasn't until recently that a lot of my friends are getting married, and cute, white cocktail dresses are in order for them. I feel their pain--they are really hard to find. You want one that's not too plain and not too see through. (Make that not see through at all). So, I began my quest to find a white dress. I ran across a speed bump during my search--make that 2 speed bumps. I normally don't like things like this, but I can't help it. I think these shoes would go perfect with a white dress. If the dress were somewhat casual, yet with understated details. The shoes would definitely be the "big deal" of the ensemble. I am on the hunt to find this pair's perfect match. I'll let you know what I find. If I don't find anything...these L.A.M.B. heels have got skinny jeans + white tank written all over them!!

White Dress

Ok, so maybe this dress would or wouldn't go with my origami shoes--but this is the first white dress I actually like since...well, 1990 or so. It has some of the same cut-out features the shoes do, which seems to be what I want at this very moment. And it is on sale right now! I am not sure how much longer BCBG is going to have this sale, but it is really good--30% off new arrivals. Weakness# 89: BCBG sales. I once found a great airplane bag on sale for about 75% off in the store. I don't know if putting everything on sale is good or bad, but I do know 1 thing--I can always find great items to wear from season to season. Another dress I really am loving right now is this boatneck style dress. I have been wanting a sheath-type dress for a while, but haven't found one that I truly adore. This one is pretty cute/casual or I could even dress it up for work.

I had one of those moments again this morning when I opened an email and fell in love. I honestly have never seen 2 items of clothing I love more...they are beautiful. This shift dress kicks the other shift dress's you know what. The blue coat is so me! I would wear that all the time!! (Well, maybe only in the winter months). Anyway, I love both of these equally. Ok, that's enough gushing. Go check it out here!
